2014 Explanation of Dues

Dues and Dues Statements must be received by Friday, May 16, 2014. Be sure to remit the correct amount indicated by your membership choices.

HOUSE MEMBERSHIP – This is the annual fee paid by most Club members. This fee covers all family members and permits them to use the restaurant bar and sailboats.

INITIATION FEE  -- Paid by all new or reinstated members.  If you are a new member you can use the Club facilities for one season before paying the initiation fee.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP -- Open to Saltaire residents age 21 through 28 whose families also reside in Saltaire but are not members.  Junior members receive bar privileges only. Each membership applies to an unmarried individual ONLY, but any number of eligible persons in a family may hold such membership.

SUSTAINING MEMBERSHIP -- Open to a member unable to join the Club for a season.  A Sustaining Membership keeps an individual's membership intact but does not entitle the member to the use of any Club facilities.

SAILING –- Adult sailing is included in dues, and all qualified Adult members are entitled to use the Club boats on July and August weekends.  Adult lessons can be arranged by contacting the sailing instructors.  Children who wish to take sailing lessons can do so by paying the appropriate fee.  Lessons can be taken for 2 weeks, 4 weeks or the entire summer.

ASSESSMENT -- There is an annual assessment that must be paid by all members.  The assessment is used to cover costs associated with the proposed renovation of the Club. A significant amount of the funds raised to date from the assessment have been used to cover legal bills resulting from law suits and other actions against the Club and the Village by neighbors living near the Club who oppose our renovation plans.

TENNIS –- Tennis is available for all members who wish to use the courts.  The dues for the various categories of tennis membership are clear on the application form and there are different rates for first, second, additional adults and children.  Children are not permitted to play on Friday afternoon and the weekends unless they are playing with an adult.  Lesson fees are paid directly to the tennis pro, not to the Club.  Please note that adults and children cannot take lessons unless they are a tennis member.

TENNIS CAMP - - For information on Tennis Camp, including where to send payments, please go to the Tennis page on this website.

GOLF – The Saltaire Yacht Club is a member of the NY Metropolitan Golf Association.  As a golf member you can submit scores and create a handicap.

RESTAURANT SEASON MINIMUM --- This amount must be used during the current season.  It can be used for food and drinks at the Club but not for tennis and sailing lessons. To charge at the Club we must have a credit card on file.  Charges will be periodically billed to members’ accounts.  Adult members of a family can have their own account ---- there is no additional charge for this ---- and can receive separate bills.  If you are a new member or wish to set up additional adult accounts please call Mindi at 516-326-7720 ext. 200 with names addresses and credit card information.
